Happy Birthday Cloisonne Card - Michael Strong Stamp ' Cloisonné Flower '

I made this card a few weeks ago just playing with one of the gorgeous Michael Strong Stamp ' Cloisonné Flower ' , used Brilliance ink lightning black and these very fun metallic adhesive dots I sourced from Paperchase (I'm so happy they've opened in the new shopping centre down where I live). The Happy Birthday stamp is from The Angel Company and is a GWP ( Gift with purchase) that means I buy way too many stamps ! LOL

Fab's Big Christmas Challenge has its very own BLOG ! - Update on my Christmas Fat Art Page

After being quiet for a while, my Christmas Cards challenge is on hiatus until next January but it was so popular it needed it's own blog. So today is the big launch and you can still add your Xmas cards and all your Holidays papercrafting bit you've concocted.....share the spirit of Christmas, please. I'll put up a huge gallery with all your work during the year up to the 20th December.

Now I had many emails asking me about the back of the FAP so I'm so sorry Paper Follies chums but I've scanned the back it and need to show it......it's too cute ! LOL I've used Stampin Up markers and tried to colour it so that it looks like he's got a proper coat....don't know if I've achieved the effect but added some glossy accents to the light bulbs.

Stamp is Rachelle Anne Miller from Secret Crafter and paper Bo Bunny. Sorry to spoil the suprise...

Christmas Fat Art Page for Paper Follies and Leonie Tagged Me

It has been so long since my last post.....I was going through one of my blue phases ! I started to feel better today and Leonie Tagging got me posting again.
I created six of these Fat Art Pages (the back is a surprise for my fellow Paper Follies swappers). I saw the lovely cards Amanda made on Making Cards magazine (I'm a subscriber) and she truly inspired me. Papers are Bo Bunny, the cabouchon faux gems - Frosted Adhesives Stones from QVC UK.

Leonie just surprised me with a lovely tagging: I have to list 7 random facts about myself ! I hope these facts are interesting and won't bore you to sleep !!!
1) I was a Sergeant in the Italian army for two years. Funnily enough I thoroughly enjoyed and wasn't missing home. I think I made the best of it.
2) I lived in three countries : Canada, Italy and the UK. Britain is what I call home though, after 18 years living in London.
3) I worked in a Rotisserie place during summer months in my teens. In Britain, I've done quite a few jobs mainly in retail : shops were in Oxford Street, Oxford Circus, Leicester Sq, Covent Garden and finally just behind Piccadilly Circus...yep I know central London like the back of my hand. Also I worked in a call centre where people could swap their time shares ( never again LOL ! ).
4) I love cooking but I will take shortcuts when I can like our Saint Delia ! I can cook Italian, French, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Moroccan cuisine. I can even make Sushi although I don't do it often to my neighbour disappointment.
5) After papercrafting my other passion is linguistics and foreign languages.
6) My first four years in the UK, I lived in a hostel that was run by Italian priests. Our accomodations were just next to the Church.
7) I'm addicted to Kool-Aid and Ice-Tea
Now my chosen Seven are:

Scary Tree Halloween Card made by Vince - La Pashe découpage

Vince made this gorgeous Halloween card. He used a leftover La Pashe découpage ( the little kid ). He's used a gradient shading paper and stamped all over it with Fancy Pants Pollen Dust (12X12 stamps sheet). Sorry guys the tree, he drew himself on some black cardstock. Cuttlebug for the BOOOO. He's drawn the doodle using a generic metallic silver pen and he stamped the lower part of the card with silver metallic brilliance inkpad.

I've entered Vince in this Challenge 33 from this lovely blog I discovered through Phree.

Dawn Bibby's Card made by Vince - Showing on QVC opening sequence today !

Wow what a shock today to see that my Vince's card for Dawn Bibby was showing on the opening sequence today throughout the craft hours. I was screaming to Vince look at the telly your card is there ! LOL We are well chuffed, thank you Dawn for keeping it and cherishing it. I'm very proud of my Vince as he drew Dawn with pencils one afternoon to send this card as a thank you: Dawn took time in her busy schedule to give me a ring on my 40th Birthday (we share the same year), it made my day and my birthday super special. Again, thanks ever so much Dawn ! X Fab

Monochrome Filigree Card - Michael Strong Cloisonné Flower Stamp

A lovely lady from the Netherland called Hetty asked me, the other day, to join her group for Michael Strong stamps aficionados. I didn't hesitate to jump in as I love Michael's stamps.

There's a Black & White challenge this month set up by the man himself and I thought I give it a try today. I've used an old TLC (now defunct) monochrome kit which seemed to be just what I needed. Some faux gems bling finished the flower off together with some highlights shine done with the Anita's 3D gloss.

I've used also Michael strong stamp called Cloisonné Flower and it seems to work with that kit ! Well I hope so. After this spell of being busy with friends visiting from abroad and this ugly bronchitis that is not letting go, I'm pleased I'm crafting again.

Glitter and Flower Cute Card - Fairies Kit extra bits

My lovely Stampin Up Demo Jodi just reminded me that I need send her some money for the new catalogue (I completely forgot sorry..). I never liked sending cheques with nothing, so I decided to make a quick card with some bits I have from that Fairy kit I've been using making all those cards.
This kit is so cute it's full of glitter and flower shapes you can cut out to assemble these lovely flowers. I hope Jodi likes it ! 8-)

Masculine Card - Giant Spiral Card Template HOTP

There's another man in Paper Follies and I didn't want to send him a fairy for obvious reasons. I needed to send Jim a masculine card. Still I believe that you can send a man a flower as long as it's brown ! LOL
I used the Giant Spiral Card template from HOTP 7341 with the papers Masculine Sarapapers HOTP 4126, Chocolate Silk flowers and chocolate brad & cinnamon stick button brads again Hot Off the Press. I did stamp on one of the flowers with a Stampin Up giant Paisley stamp to give it that mottle effect I used an Adirondack Dye ink Ginger for the contrasting colour.
I've edged the card with Brown Chalk ink Colorbox.
That's me done for today ! This card will in the post this week for you Jim !

Halloween Swirls Paper Follies Swap - Blogs to visit

Just finished this card for the current themed swap at Paper Follies and yep it's Halloween cards already ! I've used a haunted house stamp but I can't remember the company as I stamped the image a while back and coloured it just in case. You'll recognised the swirls used with black cardstock: cuttlebug embossing folder. I just rubbed some shimmering paste into it and matted with purple glitter cardstock. The bats aren't brads but confetti, I thought I would use brad but didn't like them. I finallly glossed (yet again) the tip of the swirls and the ghosts as well as the windows on the stamped image. It's a fun card. I've also decided to put two pictures from now on: a scanned and a photograph one. It helps seeing the card in different lights, I've noticed that although very clear, scans tend to be a bit flat so now everybody is happy ! LOL
I also want to bring to your attention these blogs from these lovely talented ladies !
Laurie (not a blog but lovely work)
Rita (a special mention here as Rita just started her blog)

Fairies Cards for Paper Follies - Vince's painting and Craft Corner

Good news everyone ! Our yahoo group Paper Follies has been a success, Shirley and I started it nearly a month ago and this coming Monday we're going to have our first swaps. Very excited here ! I thought I would just swap with Shirley but people kept coming...thanks to all you who have joined Paper Follies and for your trust. We soon realise that our new members didn't want a huge group so we have stopped promoting it. I've created/assembled these fairies cards for our new members I have to make 17 (helppppp !!!!) so far so good, I thought I show you what have been up to since I was really quiet. This kit is very cute and all glittered (Steady on Phree ! LOL) but I've been trying to make it my own using Anita's 3D gloss (glossy accents is the same) and glossed the bits that usually would stick out and get damaged (little legs and wands...etc.). I do love découpage but these little fairies gave a run for my money ! ah ! Vince also helped me so Paper Follies member expect one of these cards in your mailbox very soon.
Vince has been wonderful as he's been painting our long bedroom upstairs here's a view out of our 4 windows you can notice that the room is just right under the roof with slopy walls (so kudos to Vince for having painted sideways ! LOL).
And finally another picture of my craft corner all painted in white since we use to have yellow and green walls...a refreshing change but not in my tidiness.....I'm still a messy pup ! LOL
Opssssss nearly forgot, Phree you are the winner of last month BlogCandy so you should have received your Fiskars Taxi tool, well done ! And thank you to everyone who have participated and linked to my Christmas Challenge.

August Fab's Big Christmas Challenge

Before you scream cheat, I know I know....that's a card from the HOTP personal shopper. I'm not claiming that's my design either ! The reason I've decided to make this card from one of my personal shopper boxes that are dangerously growing under my bed is because QVC UK has a Today Special Value which is a Christmas Personal Shopper one.
Hot off the Press must have had so many people wanting those cards in one bundle that they must have relented and created that kit. So I thought why not have fun making one of those cards ! You can see the inside of the card too. I had a dry run crafting so this will get me crafting again. I like using kits as I don't have to think and agonise over 'will it work or look good' and at the same I can relax let my mind wander whilst I make the card as good as I can possibly can.
If you haven't tried one of those personal shopper from HOTP just give it a go. If you don't want to order them from the States and want a taster go for the QVC kit even when the price reverts back to 30 or so it's still good value.
As usual add your August entries here (you make either one card or eight (8) yep that's the nutter option), please make sure you read the instructions on my February post about my Christmas Card Challenge. You can add your entries up to September the 24th, Thank you !

Joy Floral Card - HOTP Giant Fold-it Flower Template

I can't seem to leave these wonderful Hot Off the Press giant templates alone. This one is the Giant Fold-it Flower Card. I've used K&Company Sparkly Sweet paper, edged the paper inside the card with Stampin Up Marker, created the tag with the same template and added some HOTP fabric flowers (Pastel pack) and one brad. I've also matted those flowers with a smaller version of the flower using paper leftovers.

I've traced the petals with a swirly motif you can find on the template then followed it with a quickie glue pen and glittered it as the flower paper is glittered, I wanted to carry on with the theme.

Venetian Carnival Mask Card - HOTP Giant Spiral Template plus AVEC Italian QVC Kit

I've been playing again with the lovely 12x12 templates from Hot Off the Press. This time I've used the HOTP Giant Spiral Card Template with 7 Gypsies paper. The stamps are from an AVEC Italian kit I purchased from QVC UK (the kit has lovely Venetian Carnival Masks among other designs). The two pictures show the card closed and opened. I've created the swirl with the same HOTP template as you have extra designs on it to decorate the card's flaps. Markers are Stampin Up.

Wedding Scrapbook Page - K& Company papers

No your eyes haven't tricked you ! LOL I had to 'masquerade' their face with black masks as my friend would only allow me to show the scrapbook page I made for them if their identity would be covered up ! I always permission from people I feature on my blog before putting their pictures in the public domain so I followed their wishes.

I've used all K&Company papers and the Xyron Personal Cutting machine for the lettering. I cut out some flowers from the handwritten paper and layered 4 papers following a Becky Fleck sketch on her wonderful Pagemaps book. Nearly forgot the velvety ribbon, American Crafts.

Vince and I are creating pages for my friend's wedding (that's our wedding gift) so every so often I'll pop a picture of our creations to show what we've done so far.

Little Girl with Chicks Card - Sarah Kay Stamp

I bought two Sarah Kay Stamps from Secret Crafter and as soon as I received them (thanks Wendy fast service) I had to play with them. I've used a plaid paper and funnily enough the cardstock the stamps came in with (talk about being thrifty). LOL
I've used Derwent Colorsoft pencils and Sansodor oil for the colouring. Corners and flowers I've made using the Xyron personal cutting system.

Whimsical Unicorn and Madonna Cards - Foilplay.co.uk Samples

The lovely Gill who owns http://www.foilplay.co.uk/ has asked to make some samples using foils and glitters. I'm still working on two cards (.....one is a fairy card, wink) but in the meantime I thought I would share with you what Vince has done. He took to foiling literally like a duck to water ! I couldn't stop him and you can see the three cards he made. Isn't he talented ? Well done Vince, I just love how he used some old public domain pictures and foiled accenting the images.

I'm also adding here the papers he zinged up with foiling you can see the plain paper on top and the foiled paper below, this technique really enhances your existing papers and they look more expensive and beautiful. Papers are Dovecraft and DCWV (Die Cut with a View)
