Cheeky 8X8 Layout for Dare U 2 Digistamp - Gwendolyn and Kaitlyn ( aren't they adorable ?)

This week's challenge at Dare U 2 Digistamp is a lovely sketch created by Donna who's a Design Team Member at DU2D. I had this picture of Shirley's super cute nieces and I knew I wanted to create a layout, found the right papers in a K&Co kit I have. Used Sandra's lovely Fairy digital image to embellish the LO and punched a strip of paper with the scalloped Stampin' Up oval. Lettering Brenda Pinnick scrapbooker delight kit.

I didn't scrapbook in ages so thought I give it a go this time. Those digital images are not only for cards but scrapbook too ! wink LOL

My 15 minutes of fame ! LOL - I was featured in 'Let's Make Card Magazine'

I'm like the flavour of the month ! LOL A lovely lady called Elizabeth from 'Let's Make Cards' (Aceville Publishers) magazine contacted me a few weeks ago and she gave me the permission to scan the page I'm featured on. I couldn't wait for my complimentary copy so went out and bough myself one as I couldn't believe I was in it. Got really excited and still pinching myself that my mug-shot is there !

Three other male crafters are listed in that feature, among others Calv and Paul who are two very talented individuals; please visit their blogs. You'll be in awe about their creations.

This special issue of 'Let's Make Cards' is about cards for men and boys. Lots of lovely supplies to make at least 10 cards so will challenge myself to create a few shortly. I was impressed by the variety of embellishments and you also get 10 A6 cards with envelopes, backing papers and matting squares. If you never know what to make for your dad, hubby or brother(s) then this issues will be right up your street.

Just a quick edit to add that one of my tips was picked by the lovely Sara at Paper Wishes (HOTP) in the latest newsletter, the Inside Scoop.

One for the boys ! Yee Haa Card - Dare U 2 Digistamp Challenge

I had so much fun making this card, I've used Chris design of a Canyon and brayered the background with an adirondack inkpad. Then coloured the rest of the card with Coloursoft and Sansodor.

Embellishments are K&Co 'Kazoo Kids' and Start is HOTP, I think the stripe paper is too but not sure.

This card was made for the Dare U 2 Digistamp weekly challenge.

Rose, lilac and lemon card - Dare U 2 Digistamp Challenge

Wow another has passed and nearly forgot to post my card for the Dare U 2 Digistamp Challenge: It's lilac and lemon !

A combination of several supplies here: lovely rose papers in lemon and lilac (from Making Cards), Anna Griffin frame, Chris' lovely digi image of a rose, rosette is Stampin' Up (two punches and the stamp set), some ribbons from stash, big card (10X7) from QVC UK !

I'm also very excited to announce I've joined Stampin' Up (writing was on the wall really). I like their products so much I had to join for the discount. You're very welcome to tag along with me when I place my orders so you'll be helping me reach my quarterly quotas so I can keep myself active with them.

I'll be creating a monthly newsletter in the next few days so if you want to receive it just email me and I'll add you manually (my email is in my profile in the 'about me' section)

Spin Hot Off the Press Card - Tutorial from their Webisodes

After seeing a damsel in distress in the Paperwishes forum I thought I would try this lovely tutorial of a spin card. You need two cards to do but you can also use only a panel at the front to hide the wheel. I've used the HOTP Pretty Swirls (X12780 bought from QVC UK) paper pad. You can see the inside of the card on the second picture. All items are HOTP apart from using a scalloped oval punch from Stampin' Up (big announcement next week for that - wink wink) for the inside of the card.

Anyhoo I hope you like the card, I've decided I preferred to put the wheel on the right instead of right at the top.

My first review on Craft Critique !

I'm very excited here because I had my first article published on CraftCritique.com ! This month I'm reviewing the Stix2 Glue Rider Pro which is a pretty good piece of equipment. You can see the card I made using the Glue Rider, it was a demo card to show how the glue rider pro can be used with glitter.

If you want to see the article or the card slightly bigger just click on the image.

Watercan full of hearts Card - Dare U 2 digistamp challenge

This week's theme for the Dare U 2 Digistamp challenge is 'Gingham and Stitches', I've used Chris Watercan digital image and some papers & vellum from Making Card Mag. They seem to work very well with the theme, the faux stitching was done using the Easy Stitch HOTP template. The sketch I used to make this card was created by the lovely Hazel.

Fluo Chinese Cutie Card - A new Oriental Blog

That print is soooooo cute. Vince created this very vibrant card after getting inspiration from a craft magazine where they were showing how to download a series of cutie chinese cartoon like girls.

I picked this card because it fits right in with my announcement....I created yet another blog about Oriental card making: ' The Zen of Oriental Card Making' !

I really like oriental cards so thought I better have a separate blog for that. I hope you'll enjoy it.

My day meeting Brenda Pinnick at the British Museum

I was very excited to meet Brenda and Helen, Bridget as well as Leonie later on. Here we are bright and early at 10am at the front gardens of the museums. Vince took the picture so he's not showing !
The exhibits took my breath away, to think that people crafted these beautiful artefacts so many years ago, I know it's silly but I felt emotional and overwhelmed at the beginning as everything is just there you don't expect to be so close.
Our lovely Brenda posing among those statues. Extremely kind and real person, I was worried we would overwhelm her as we wanted to ask so many questions but she took the time to answer them all. So Brenda a big thank you for making a normal trip to the museum a wonderful day for all of us. Keep it real girl ! We love ya !

Just a wow on that one, I was thinking of Wellington (a Craft Telly member) the whole time as she's a big Egyptian art fan. Welly if you ever come down to London, we're going together !
Bridget " Look Brenda a vase ! " Brenda " Yes I can see that " LOL
We entered this room and we were speechless, a stunner !
Copycat that I am decided to take a picture of me at the same spot where Brenda took hers ! LOL
Helen and Brenda
Group meeting ! Brainstorming with Brenda about forthcoming new lines...
Bridget
I think this was taken when we entered the room with the big temple, we're in awe as you can see. Brenda, Bridget and I.
Another group meeting, this time it's serious ! wink
Brenda and Leonie
After 19 years in London, I'm thinking why I didn't go before but as usual there's always tomorrow. If you ever come to London make a beeline to the British Museum it's amazing and beautiful !

Meerkat in a frame Card - Digi U 2 Digistamp Challenge

You gotta check this week sketch at the Dare U 2 Digistamp challenge . This challenge is a lovely sketch with circles used on either side of the card. I've used one of the digi-images created by Sandra, isn't that meerkat cute ?

I've used a lovely Papermania scrapbook kit and some Kanban faux gems to add some bling. Also used Sakura clear gel for the eyes and glitter transparent for the cravatte. I hope you like it, I had so much fun creating it.

Just a quick byline to tell you that Craft Critique are doing a give away for a book being reviewed today so go and visit them for the chance of winning it.

Very last chance today to win also the blog candy on my Christmas challenge blog then I wrap it up. I'll announce the winner next week.
