Yet more crochet today making a flower ! :)

Taken with my mobile so excuse the pix quality
The lovely Lioness on CraftTelly forum posted the thread about this blog titled Inkclinations by Melissa ( a wave ) where she shows how crochet flowers. I tend to practice with thick wool and a big crochet hook so it makes it easier for me to have a go at it.

Once I'm happy with the result I'll attempt a smaller and more detailed flower so I can use it on a card. Wish me luck ! :)

What's on my Workdesk Wednesday !

Hurray my first WYOWW ! Sorry about the picture but I can't keep still this morning. I've been mainly crocheting yesterday and I'm going to try again the grid pattern today (1DC alternated with 1Tr). I also have two boxes of Lock & Lock filled with gilding flakes I got from Gill at foilplay ! So will probably create an oriental card with a gilded background yummy ! :)

Also got the super dooper circle punch from Stampin' Up, it's exactly the right size 1"3/8' to fit my friend Paula's round greeting stamps ! So no more guessing with a fiskar cutting template or cutting around with a pair of scissors (shock horror lol).

You can tell I'm a messy crafter and poor Vince needs to have a good tidy up when he wants to make some cards ! Sorry ! :)

Fab Glam Fifties MCS Card samples #5

Last day for the pick of the week: Nancy's latest CD from MCS 'Fab Glam Fifties'. I thought that patterned dot paper would be just the thing for that gorge topper with that lady who looks so elegant. Embellished with Stampin' Up square and round gem brads (corners and lady's earring).

I've treated myself to some extra HOTP cardmaking pads from Ideal World as they were on sales and joined the craft club which was a good call as I saved a few quid doing so. I did get my postage back I spent in December so got some glue runners (mice) for Vince ! :)

Fab Glam Fifties MCS Card samples #4

A bit of quilling for fun and some gems to jazz up this handbag card. I really went mad using 8X8 cards which are cameramen friendly ! Don't forget you've got up to tomorrow ( I think ) to get Nancy's CD at the reduced price (saving yourself a tenner) after that it reverts back to the usual price.

Check Create&Craft.tv website for more info.

I'll post my last card tomorrow !

Fab Glam Fifties MCS Card samples #3

Here's the third card I made, the skirt is all 3D decoupaged (can't really see it from the picture) and I've used an innie which matches the back of the dress, it's such a great image and I've also used a sakura glitter gel pen to outline the pooch !

I think it would make a great greeting card for our American cousins Prom Night, although we've started to have Prom nights in the UK too. They can be a lot of fun and the definite moment where a young adult feels exactly like a ritual of passage into adulthood !

Fab Glam Fifties MCS Card samples #2

As promised here's the second instalment of my five cards contribution to Nancy's latest Craft CD (Fab Glam Fifties).

I used one of the gorgeous Hot Off the Press foil papers. I think it goes very well with that topper. The hat is 3D decoupage and I've added some Kanban gems (earing and top right hand corner).

Happy New Year ! I'm back (Petula Gordino voice) - Fab Glam Fifties MCS Card samples #1

Hello everyone (still with Petula Gordino voice - ah ah ah )

Oh boy it felt good to just take a good break. I managed to send several hand made Christmas Cards this year something I never managed to do in the past despite running a crimbo challenge (I'm reverting to a monthly format this year btw).
